Therapy for Teens
Teen Therapy
Being a teenager can be a lot.
Between school, friendships, family, social media, expectations, and figuring out who you are, it can feel like there is a lot to keep up with—and sometimes, it can be hard to explain exactly what feels wrong.
Maybe your teen seems more anxious, withdrawn, overwhelmed, or frustrated than usual. Maybe their confidence has taken a hit. Or maybe they keep saying “I'm fine,” but you know something is going on.
Therapy can give teens a space that is theirs—a place to talk honestly, feel understood, and work through what they're carrying without judgment.
You might be here because...
-
Your teen seems more anxious or overwhelmed lately
-
Their confidence or self-esteem has taken a hit
-
They're struggling with friendships or relationships
-
They're putting a lot of pressure on themselves
-
They're having a hard time adjusting to a change
-
They're struggling with identity or figuring out who they are
-
You and your teen are having a hard time communicating
-
They seem fine on the outside but aren't feeling fine on the inside
What we can work on
Anxiety & overwhelm
Learning to understand what's underneath the anxiety and finding ways to manage it.
Confidence & self-esteem
Building a healthier relationship with themselves and separating their worth from achievement, appearance, or other people's opinions.
Identity & self-discovery
Exploring who they are, what matters to them, and who they're becoming.
Friendships & relationships
Navigating conflict, boundaries, communication, belonging, and changing friendships.
Life transitions
Working through changes at home, school, relationships, or other seasons that don't feel
What therapy with me can look like
Therapy doesn't have to mean sitting on a couch and talking about your feelings for an hour.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and sometimes a little creative. Depending on the teen, therapy might involve conversation, activities, reflection, values work, or simply having a place to decompress and be themselves.
I want teens to feel like they can come as they are—not like they have to show up with the “right” answers.
For parents
Parents are an important part of the process, too. My goal is to create a space where your teen can develop trust and feel comfortable being honest while also keeping parents informed and involved in ways that support their growth.
Contact
Your teen doesn't have to figure it all out alone.
If you're wondering whether counseling could be a good fit, I'd love to connect.
